About Marcos Gomes Borges
Dr. Marcos Gomes Borges is a Senior Research Engineer with expertise in robotic perception, computer vision, machine learning, signal processing, sensor data fusion, and target tracking. He has been an IEEE reviewer since 2017.
Marcos worked as a Senior Research Engineer at ENGIE, developing proofs of concept in robotic perception, neuromorphic engineering, embedded AI, and physics-informed machine learning for computational fluid dynamics.
He also worked for Safran Electronics & Defense, implementing real-time algorithms for sensor data fusion, autonomous sensor management, and image processing for multi-target tracking within the Bayesian framework, Random Finite Set theory, and Partially Observable Markov Decision Process.
Previously, Marcos was a Research Engineer at the National Institute for Space Research in Brazil (INPE), collaborating on the development of sensors for satellite navigation within the Space Electronics Division.
Marcos earned a PhD degree in Signal and Image Processing from Centrale Lille, where he was a CIFRE fellow, and a Master of Engineering degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics from the National Institute for Space Research in Brazil.
